@LMSA.... didn't he also have tons of volunteers helping him? It seems like he probably pocketed the bulk of the money. Not sure if he did any marketing.
That’s an accurate take. His “editorial team” were all volunteer exJWs and if they provided any guidance, it was largely ignored. I do remember him stating that the O’Donnells in particular helped him root out the British idioms and terms and made it more palatable to American audiences. Arthur Weber - his partner in crime with the COC rip-off - knew a lot about this and did all the work to get it up on Amazon - for free of course.
It was over $20K raised and his book tour was handled by local exJWs. His flights were likely comped too but I can’t be certain. I do know generous exJWs put him up in hotel rooms and paid for his meals.
So yeah - it was mostly pocketed.
